Cadence 99 - Pace, Progress, Possibility

Cadence - Life & Work in Motion

“The secret of your success is found in your daily routine."
~ John C. Maxwell

Hi Reader

Another month to celebrate, and as the (rainy) British summer ambles on, I’m stepping away from my usual 3:2:1 format to share updates in three areas this month.

Before we get there, can you believe I'm on edition 99!

This Cadence newsletter started humbly back in 2018, and has been through several iterations until I found the format and publishing cadence that works best for it (and me).

Incredible progress is possible when we pace ourselves. I'm looking forward to celebrating the 100 edition soon.

Ready? Here we go!

1. Slowing the Pace

If you’re new here, you might not know that I usually take a content creation sabbatical over the summer (and again in December) as part of my intentional productivity practice.

I use the slower pace at this time of year to create space for rest and reflection.

So, I’m working four-day weeks through July and August and purposefully easing into each work day with movement / gym and a stint of fiction writing (my side project this year) before diving into client work.

My fifth day is currently spent hiking in the Lake District.

This slower stretch also gives me time to do deeper strategic work on the business. I'm in the midst of devising some exciting things - more below.

2. Celebrating the Wins

Last month, the Creating Cadence Podcast turned five and I’ve got three exciting milestones to share.

1 - My Affiliate Experiment

This year I trialled my first affiliate sponsorship with Magic Mind (a nootropic productivity shot) and listeners bought $1,500 worth of products using my links. Thank you!

2 - A Rising Listenership

The top 3 most listened episodes of 2025, so far, are:

• Ep 74: A Dance Between Two Systems – Kyle Soo

• Ep 75: Regenerative Leadership – Rashmir Balasubramaniam

• Ep 77: Attunement – Mark Shayler

3 - Growing Global Reach

The podcast now reaches 33 countries, with recent listeners tuning in from Singapore, Finland, and Colombia. Knowing that my little podcast has such a global spread is the metric that makes me the happiest!

---

If you host your own podcast, you know it's a ton of work. Mine is a self-funded labour of love squeezed in between other work, and I’ve learned countless lessons along the way as I purposefully develop it slowly. My aim is to reach 100 episodes before deciding what’s next.

Side note: Season 14 starts in September with a mix of solo episodes and interviews. More on that in the next newsletter.

3. Developing New Things

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I love experimenting. It’s part of what keeps my work energised and evolving.

1 - Writing From The Heart

I started a Substack last year, but left it mostly dormant. Lately, I’ve been craving a space to go deeper on the themes I explore here and on the podcast. Thoughts written by me, not AI.

So, starting in September, I’ll share occasional long-form essays there. They’ll be free to read, and I’ll let you know here when new ones are published.

2 - The Cadence Catalyst

This Autumn, I’m also launching something new: The Cadence Catalyst is a private, strategic mastermind group for high-income, purpose-driven, high performers.

Online over 8 weeks, it’s designed for 6–7 figure entrepreneurs, consultants, fractional execs and creative founders who are successful, but stretched, and ready to build a more intentional, sustainable work life.

Each cohort will include just 8 vetted participants, the first one starts in October. If you’d like to be the first to hear when applications open in mid-September, join the priority list here.

Based on current commitments, this is the only way you can work with me for the rest of this year.

Final Thoughts

Wishing you an auspicious August, wherever you find yourself.

I’ll be back in your inbox in early September, with more 3:2:1 resources and Season 14 announcements.

In the meantime, when not working, you'll find me bundu bashing through the bracken or forest bathing amidst the firs on my intrepid adventures in the Lakes.

It's all part of the training!

With courage, curiosity and cadence,

Mich x
